The church in the village of Botevo "St. Prophet Elijah" was built in 1867 with permission from the Sultan. It was built by Tryavna craftsmen /two brothers/. The older brother built the church, and the younger painted the icons and designed the altar. The first priest in the village was named Father Nikola. Towards the end of the eighties of the last century, the church was declared an architectural monument of culture of local importance.
